Project Variables
Project Variables are like Sources but for the Projects module. They are the inputs you create for project/scenario data.
Give your Variable a name, add a Unit Type and Climate Factor, link a Methodology, and start adding data to Projects and Scenarios!
Variable Types
Variable Type | Definition | Examples |
Emissions Control | Measures to capture, reduce, or offset emissions during production. | Carbon capture, offset credits |
Energy | Source and type of energy used in production. | Renewable electricity, natural gas |
End-of-Life | Disposal or recycling process for the product after its lifecycle. | Recycling, landfill, incineration |
Fuel | Types and quantities of fuels consumed. | Diesel, biofuel, propane |
Material | Types and origins of raw materials used. | Steel, recycled plastic, cotton |
Packaging | Details on the type, weight, and source of product packaging. | Cardboard box, recycled paper, plastic wrap |
Process | Manufacturing processes and efficiencies, including emissions per stage. | Smelting, assembly, finishing |
Product Use | Resources consumed during the product’s usage phase. | Electricity for electronics, fuel for machinery |
Transportation and Logistics | Modes and distances of transportation within the supply chain. | Truck, ship, air freight |
Waste | Types and amounts of waste generated, and how it’s managed. | Scrap metal, hazardous waste, recycled materials |
Water Use | Volume and source of water used in production processes. | Freshwater, recycled water |
