How Different Entities in Breeze Connect

This image provides a high-level overview of how each of the entities in Breeze connect to each other and your footprint.

The diagram outlines the relationships between Breeze's core components involved in carbon accounting.

Here's a breakdown of the relationships:

Core Components & Their Connections

  • Source GroupSource (Optional Relationship)
    • A Source may belong to a Source Group, but it is not mandatory.

Source → Data Point (Always Connected)

    • A Source directly feeds into a Data Point, meaning every Data Point must be associated with a Source.

Source → Supporting Properties (Always Connected)

    • Each Source is linked to:
    • A Data Point can have system-calculated values:
      • Standard Quantity & Standard Unit
      • Active Emissions
      • Market Emissions

Organizational-Level Relationships

  • TagPlace (Optional Relationship)
    • A Place can have Tags associated with it.

Place → Data Point (Optional Relationship)

    • A Data Point may be linked to a Place.

Place → Time Period & Notes (Optional Relationships)

    • A Place can store metadata like Time Period and Notes.

Legend & Color Coding

  • Unique Entity (Green)
    • Represents organization-level unique entities (Source, Data Point, Place, etc.).

      Breeze Default Components (Blue)

    • System-level elements like Unit Type, Climate Factors, and Emission Scope.

      Data Point Properties (Yellow)

    • User-entered data for each Data Point (e.g., Usage Quantity & Usage Unit).

      System-Calculated Values (Dotted Yellow)

    • Emissions and standard quantities that the system computes.

      Line Types

    • Solid Arrows represent required relationships.
    • Dashed Arrows indicate optional relationships.
